Yes, petroleum jelly is ok as long as you don’t repeatedly apply it in excess. it will eventually soften the TPE to the point that it will start to degrade. but a single application won’t be anything to worry about.

Sorry I’m late on this repl, yes this mod requires a modified soldering iron of about 25 watt I think. it was with an aluminum bulb I made on its tip about half an inch diameter and 3/4 inch long. not an easy job to do actually. I’ve since moved on and this doll has been unfortunately permanently retired.

I’ve been doing this for years, I recommended it to a fellow member here that had his oil fired heater back flow soot that got all over his dolls. What I use are foam auto wax applicators (they are bigger). Oil to lift the dirt up, Foam sponge to wipe it off, warm soapy water to wash the sponge off, rinse sponge, repeat.

Yes, my main complaint with these is the fact that the skeleton‘a joints can be, or become extremely tight and noisy! I have a 165 that the left hip swing outward/inward is very tight, and creaks so loud I don‘t play with her anymore when anyone is home. I mean it is LOUD!

My dolls are my weight set! Seriously! My doctor said I needed more exercise. So I started moving my dolls around on a regular basis. You got a doll around the middle of the road in terms of weight. I have 172’s that weight in at least 110#. I carry them up a full flight of stairs myself. (I’m only 5’3” medium build) Try to keep the doll straight as possible and upright. once the doll leans or is laying down she will have a lot of leverage working against you. I get it front of a doll with her facing me, squat down, bear hug her firmly underneath her buttocks, then stand up. Be careful to stay as straight up and down as possible, plan your route carefully beforehand, avoid any twisting movements and obstacles etc. Glad you finally got her! 😊
