Hey all!
I'm considering purchasing a doll to take along with me to my frequent hotel stays. When I picture myself walking through the lobby with a suspiciously human form wrapped in a blanket draped over my shoulder, it gives me cause to pause. I have read of the enlightened using golf club travel cases to transport their "companions", but the measurements confound me.
To wit: I would like to purchase the largest doll I can that will fit (headless) in a 50" high case. I assume that at the very least a 156cm will fit, but I'm worried about width. Could you good gentlemen with 156 and smaller ladies do me the courtesy of measuring the widest part (and possibly the deepest point from front to back although I really think the width will be the limiting factor)? While you have the measuring tape out, could you give me a distance from feet to headless neck? I've always assumed that 156cm is the largest, but I could be wrong...
Obviously standing feet will be a requirement for this to work, but it seems that MDL's 156cm model has standing feet so I'm not that worried.
Thank you all for the measurements in advance, party on gentlemen...
EDIT - So after numerous discussions, I've learned that what I really need is the head measurement. If one of you good people would be so kind as to measure the head from base of neck to top of head (inches or cm doesn't matter) i would be very grateful... Thank you all!
I don’t have absolutes right now, but I bet a 165 without a head would be very close to 156.
The 165 is pretty slender, and a medium breast would give a little more wiggle room as well.
A case the size of the shipping box would be a great starting point.
Wheels on the bottom end with her standing inside should be a very easy way of wheeling her in the room.
Its really nobody‘s business I know, but to make it the most professional is where I would want it because I have as well though about this myself, I always think it would be cool to take multiple dolls into a really nice hotel in Vegas or the like.
