Hello everyone, I have been looking into getting a love doll for several years now. For a while i wasn't able to get the funds, due to being a single father for past 12 years. Now kids are older and moving out, I have been doing some serious research and consideration into getting a first doll. I was lucky enough to find this site before committing to a doll that was $1000 or more. Although I am still trying to decide which doll to get, I am wondering about a few things like weight consideration and storage. I am also wondering what else I should be aware of and hat i should be prepared for, any additional cost i need to prepare for and what supplies I should consider getting before she arrives. Thank you all in advance for any information and advice you can give.

Yes, I use an electric blanket with a comforter on top, and a sheet in between the doll.
Never lay the doll on top of an electric blanket!
I only use it for a bit before going to bed in the winter to take the chill out of her.
In the summer I love cuddling with a cool TPE doll.
You can warm a doll up with an electric blanket, but you have to be careful if your blanket gets really warm. Too much heat will melt and disfigure your beautiful companion, and even the wires inside the blanket can put lines in her skin if she lays on top of them for a little while. If you can safely get her in and out of your tub/ shower, you can warm her with water from your showerhead. If you do this, you must make sure no water gets into her neck. If it does, it can and probably will work its way into your doll- and will likely mold the TPE and rust the steel. Be careful with "hole warmers" as well, a lot of them are cheaply made and can get too hot for the TPE material.
I want to thank you all for the your words of wisdom. I asked similar question of that 'The Doll Forum' a week ago and still haven't got any replies or advice. I must say i am feeling a lot more comfortable being here and actually talking to you all.
Thank you all, I have been wanting to take the plunge for a while now and i tend to overthink things. My biggest issue is where she will be while i am at work and taking care of house. My kids know to never go into my room with out asking (due to firearms) so that's not an issue. I was thinking that due to having a memory foam mattress she would be okay laying in bed during the day wrapped in a white sheet. Is there anything else i could do to keep her warm.
I should also mention I have 3 minion dolls and as you may know , they may not be trustworthy, lol.
First, I will say, you can have confidence in this site, MLD; it is legit and has beautiful, very high quality Dolls, at bargain prices. The shipping is fast, and service is excellent. Weight/size is definitely a real consideration... You are essentially moving a person around, when you lift and carry one of the dolls. For me, the medium size, are the optimum size. I own 3 dolls, now, with a 4th, on the way. Like most folks, I started with the 100cm Doll, the Isabella, because she’s such a bargain, and to find out, if I would enjoy a sex doll. After experiencing just how pleasurable these dolls are, I soon ordered another. I call the Isabella Doll, the “ Gateway” doll, because she lures you in... Regarding size and choices...beginning with the 140cm Lucy Doll, you have the opportunity to really personalize your Doll, because you can choose any of the available heads, to put on the Doll. Plus, they all come with standing feet, beginning at that size, too. You will want those... I think most folks, store their dolls, laying down, on a soft surface...that is what’s recommended. But, some folks also store them standing up, in a Closet...( the standing feet allow you to do this, without damaging the doll). I will only emphasize one caution; dark colored clothing, can stain the TPE of your Doll, which is very disappointing ( the stains will come out, although it’s a process, to do it...). You can dress the doll, anyway you like, but limit how long you leave on dark colored clothing, including shoes, to a few hours...
Enjoy the adventure...
