I got Ashley (Anna 135) two days ago and I was anxious to get her dressed and photographed so I could show her off. Unfortunately, due to her mid-February trip from NJ to MN, she arrived in Elsa mode. Not wanting to give her a Disney princess name, but wanting to note the occasion I just flipped it: AShLEy.
Anyway, her hips are so stiff they barely move. I got them up just enough so she can sit in a chair and can't get them down again. I heard that can be an issue in the winter and seeing as how her TPE is still cold to the touch I'm guessing they don't retain heat long.
For the last hour I've had her on the bed with a heating pad over her hips with a blanket over her to retain the heat... but of course heat rises, so I don't think it's going to get joint deep and I'm uncomfortable with the situation altogether. You're not supposed to use a heating pad underneath a human... but I don't know if I dare with a doll.
Suggestions?
...both arms now. Broken.
Yeah MLD has great sculpts and beautiful dolls but those skeletons are rough.
...her arm is broken. ??? :( Just above the elbow. That joint was never stiff. I posed it without issue the day before. Otherwise (update), as the temperature warms, the joints loosen. She was starting to become a lot of fun. I mean, I can live with the broken arm, but it bugs me. At some point I might try to repair it and I'll post pics and such. Kind of decided I'm going to hold on ordering another one until skeletons improve, though. Wouldn't mind spending more if they did. I'm certainly impressed with everything else. :)
Be extremely careful. The left hip on Boxer ended up snapping due to how cold it was in Virginia. One option you could try is laying a heated blanket on her. Put a normal blanket on her first, like the pink one she came with, then a heated blanket on the lowest setting. Check on her every now and then to make sure the TPE hasn’t gotten too hot. You can also try heating up the room she’s in. But, tbh, your best bet is to just wait until the weather gets warmer and be patient when moving her legs.
Why don't you try spooning with her and let your body heat warm her up or try the heating pad on low for awhile, don't want to heat up tpe too much, from what I've been told. Also search YouTube for helpfull Love Doll maintenance and cleaning ideas. Good luck and Enjoy your New Love Doll.😉
