Just got "Beth" in the mail today, I ordered the smaller one should I would get a general idea of what they were like. She's small but she's honestly adorable in a strange, weird way.
Anyways, I saw there was just a bunch of accessories and what-nots in the box, but I wanted to know if any old baby oil and talcum powder would work. So just for future references, I've seen people posting about water-based lubricants, would that be what astroglide is, and not petroleum based like ky?
Cleaning products..
So what works best for cleaning and drying? Antibacterial handsoap or shower gel? I've seen one person says tampons for drying out orifices that or aquarium pumps. Anything else I should know to get at the store? lol.
Congrats, man. I'll soon be there. I'm really looking forward to that "unboxing" moment.
That is great advise @rk105rider just shared, the low pressure air pumps are pretty safe, if I may add a couple of points the reason you want to use a water base lubricant versus a silicone base lubricant is because silicone damages TPE over time specially if use in "high stress" areas, it actually deteriorates the TPE, also keep in mind that baby oil is to be used sporadically because while it will make your doll feel and look great and will help keep the TPE properly lubricated it can also over-saturate the TPE if used too frequently, baby oil is usually best for occasional / special cleaning and stain removal.
Soft-soap is also a pretty safe product on TPE which is why it tends to be recommended, some soaps or body washes may dry the TPE over time but will clean much better that soft-soap, also it does not have to be antimicrobial or antibacterial that is just an added feature for "extra points"
Congrats! 😊
Thanks for the information.
Does the "plastic" smell go away or fade away so it's not so strong after cleaning with soap and talcum powder?
Congratulations of getting your Beth, safely! If you’ll look inside the included little Bag of supplies, you’ll find a good Comb, for keeping her Wig looking good, Talcum Powder, a small Vial of Baby Oil , Lipstick and a good Water Based Lube ( in the box with Water Drops on it). Just a Washcloth with warm water, works great for cleaning your Doll...you can use mild soap with it, too. I just use Talcum Bath Powder and Baby Oil I bought at Walmart...it works great. A little Shaving Cream brush works great for applying the Talcum Powder all over her TPE Skin, to keep her smooth and feeling natural. I am a big Fan of the low Pressure Aquarium Air Pumps, with clear plastic tubing, to ventilate and dry out her Orifices, after fun time... Again, I bought mine at Walmart, in the Pet Department, about $10.00 for both the pump and plastic tubing...
