So, I was watching a video a couple of weeks ago, and it was of this lady showing how to make TPE paste for your dolls. In the video, though, she pulls out these makeup sponges, and says that they're really great in picking up dirt and dust from the TPE after oiling it. I thought, "Huh, I should try that. It might be better than a microfiber cloth." And... Omg, y'all, it really works. I had to fix up Boxer's arms because they were feeling a little tacky again, and the makeup sponge picked up almost everything from her arms. Here's what the makeup sponge looked like after I was done. It's not a ton of dirt, since I just recently cleaned Boxer, but I was still shocked on what it did pick up. A mix of oil and dirt. 😯

I totally recommend trying out this method, if you haven't already, especially for new doll owners. It saved me a lot of time and hassle, and now I plan on stocking up on a bunch of these babies so that I can have them for the next big cleaning. 😁
I’ve been doing this for years, I recommended it to a fellow member here that had his oil fired heater back flow soot that got all over his dolls.
What I use are foam auto wax applicators (they are bigger).
Oil to lift the dirt up, Foam sponge to wipe it off, warm soapy water to wash the sponge off, rinse sponge, repeat.
Awesome Tip! Thanks for sharing it!
What kind of makeup sponge did you get? How do you use it?
Awesome! Thanks fir the tip, ArtiSan!
